Our predictions desk publishes picks for every fixture of the IPL season — typically within six hours of squad announcement, refreshed after the toss. This page explains our methodology so you can build your own model.

The five factors we always check
- Recent form — last five innings / last five overs, not career average.
- Venue profile — average first-innings score, spin/seam split, dew factor.
- Head-to-head matchup — how this batter has historically performed against this bowler.
- Role stability — confirmation from the team that the player will bat in the expected position.
- Weather and dew — dew can swing second-innings run chases by 20-30 runs.
Reading a typical predictions card
Each prediction page on our site lists: most likely toss winner, predicted top batter, predicted top bowler, suggested captain and vice-captain, and a differential pick under 8% ownership. We do not publish a projected score — that is a different problem with too many variables to model reliably.
How to combine our picks with your own
The best fantasy players use our predictions as a starting point, then make one or two swaps based on their own pitch read. Trust your judgment on captain if you have watched the team closely — most winning lineups differ from "consensus" by exactly one or two player picks.
